This series includes 20 mixed-media artworks that I created based upon family photos. I appropriated these images by scanning them, reprinting them via an inkjet printer, and then using the prints as a foundation for further (brush-based) painting and collage work. In some instances, I incorporated other media (such as spray paint, metal screens, and mechanically shredded documents). I consider the collection (highlights included here) as a tribute to my identity and to my heritage.
